Warsaw Srodmiescie

Śródmieście is located on the left bank of Warsaw. The boundaries of Śródmieście are marked by the railway tracks at Słomińskiego Street and Jana Pawła II Avenue, Niepodległości Avenue, Spacerowa Street, Gagarina Street, Podchorążych Street and the Vistula River.

According to the City Information System, Śródmieście is divided into the following districts: Nowe Miasto, Stare Miasto, Powiśle, Solec, Ujazdów, Śródmieście Południowe, Śródmieście Północne.

A characteristic place for Śródmieście is, among others, the building of the Palace of Culture and Science and the famous palm tree at Rondo de Gaulle.

Śródmieście is the most popular district of Warsaw. There are many cultural institutions here, including the Fryderyk Chopin Museum, Zachęta Gallery, Gallery of Steel Figures, Museum of Caricature, Kordegarda, Galeria Foksal 17, and the University of Warsaw Museum.
Residents and tourists can visit the Krasiński Garden, located in Muranów between Świętojerska, Andersa, Długa, Stare Nalewki and the Krasiński Palace.

A must-see is the oldest part of Warsaw - the Old Town, including the Royal Castle and the Presidential Palace.

The city centre offers rich gastronomic selection. There are many restaurants, cafes and milk bars. You can use the restaurant gardens located outdoors, e.g. in the vicinity of Nowy Świat, Vistula Boulevards or Krakowskie Przedmieście.

Families with children can take advantage of many attractions at the Copernicus Science Centre, which offers many exhibitions, workshops and events. Another interesting proposition is the Ujazdowski Park with workshops on ecology and healthy eating. Mornings for Children are held in the Muranów Cinema, and the Children's Cinema Club is also located here.
In the City Centre there are many universities, primary schools, high schools, technical schools, kindergartens and nurseries.

The City Centre is characterised by a variety of buildings. Starting from old houses, villas, tenement houses or blocks of flats in modern housing estates, ending with office buildings. At Konstytucji Square there is the Marszałkowska Housing District from the 1950s, commonly known as MDM.

Many new development investments are still being built in the City Centre. In recent years, Pasaż Wiecha, the Sezam and Smyk buildings have been renovated, the Center Department Stores have been renovated and extended, and the iconic Rotunda has been rebuilt.

The City Centre is perfectly connected to other parts of Warsaw. Here you will find a richly developed network of bus and tram connections, metro lines I and II, as well as bus and train stations.
